Development of Online Training Package in the Incident Command System

Abstract

          This research aims to develop an online training module on the Incident Command System (ICS) and to compare the scores before and after training using the online module on the Incident Command System. The sample group consisted of 41 civil servants from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. The tools used were online training modules on the Incident Command System and knowledge tests. It was a quasi-experimental research design with pre-test and post-test analysis, utilizing percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and t-test for independent samples. The research findings indicate that the online training module on the Incident Command System consists of four units: Emergency Management, Incident Command System, Organizational Structure of the Incident Command System, and Planning Process in the Incident Command System. The research also finds that the post-training scores were significantly higher than the pre-training scores at a statistical significance level of .05.
