Safety Image, Perception of Safety and Security in Life and Property Among Thai Tourists in Pattaya, Chonburi

Abstract

          This study aims to investigate and compare the perspectives of Thai tourists in Pattaya, Chonburi Province, on the aspects of image and security of life and property, categorized by demographics. The research methodology involves quantitative research by collecting survey data from Thai tourists visiting Pattaya, totaling 400 participants. The researcher in this study chose to use probability sampling, specifically employing the simple random sampling method. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics, including t-tests and one-way ANOVA or f-tests. The research findings indicate that Thai tourists with demographic characteristics such as gender, age, occupation, and average income have similar perceptions regarding the safety image of tourist destinations. Overall, there is no statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level of significance. However, among Thai tourists with demographic characteristics such as marital status and education level, there are statistically significant differences observed at the 0.05 level of significance. In detail, the perception of security among Thai tourists is ranked as follows from highest to lowest: natural disasters, public health, security, crime, and accidents, with the perception of accidents being the lowest.
