Main Article Content
Abstract
Personnel training has been offering at all levels of public organizations over time. Training program designers need appropriate knowledge, skills, and experiences to create substantive contents of the program beneficial for the organizations. This article has the objective to study the supervisory training guideline approach employed in the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice. Related official documents were collected and in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 participants who had completed the batch-30 training in 2022. The results revealed that the batch-30 supervisory training program was organized using mixed methodology amidst the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Fifty supervisors from various work specializations participated in the program. The program’s subject matter included: the state policy guidelines, management, self-development, justice administration, driving policy toward implementation and learning through benchmarking, altogether 70 hours. Teaching and learning methods combined online and video studies. Persons who had completed the supervisory training were satisfied with knowledge and experiences obtained from the program and had more confidence while working. Recommendations emphasized that training programs for line and functional officials should be organized separately since the contents needed to study are different and unable to be mixed up into single training program.
