Effectiveness of Implementing the Policy for Managing the Work of Foreigners in Mae Sot District, Tak Province

Abstract

        The objectives of this research were to study the effectiveness and factors influencing the success and failure of government agencies in implementing policies for managing the work of foreign workers. It also aims to provide recommendations for improving the work of government agencies in implementing policies for managing the work of foreign workers in the area of Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The research uses a mixed-method approach with a sample group comprising the Employment Office, Mae Sot Hospital, Immigration Office, Social Security Office, and the Mae Sot District Chief Officer, totaling 316 individuals. The sample size was calculated using Yamane's formula. Research tools include questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis involves calculating percentages, means, and standard deviations.
        The research results found that:
       1. The effectiveness of the policy implementation for managing the work of foreign workers in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, was found to be mostly favorable. Respondents largely agreed with the strict enforcement of laws regulating work permits for foreign workers the most (Mean = 4.47, S.D. = 0.702).
          2. The factors influencing the implementation of policies for managing the work of foreign workers in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, were generally perceived positively. Respondents strongly agreed that the policy for managing the work of foreign workers is clear and practical (Mean = 4.58, S.D. = 0.664).
         3. There is a provision of guidelines and regular communication to staff to ensure understanding of their job responsibilities and ongoing improvement in work processes to accommodate changes. This is achieved through meetings, briefings, and consistent communication of guidelines to relevant personnel.
