The Study of Attitudes Towards Premarital Cohabitation of Under Graduate Students

Abstract

          This research aims to 1) study the attitude of towards premarital cohabitation of undergraduate students  2) Compare attitude towards premarital cohabitation separated by gender, ages, status,level,GPA,Probation student,  family status,  family income. 3) Study opinions on attitude towards premarital cohabitation of undergraduate students.The sample was 380 undergraduates by simple random sampling.The size of the sample was determined using Krejcie and Morgan  tables.The research instrument was a Questionnaire on attitude towards premarital cohabitation of undergraduate students 48 items passed by 5 experts, are considered analyzing consistency between factors and questions (IOC) with the consistency index of 0.70-1.00. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient 0.96. The statistics used in this research were analyzed for baseline data such as mean, standard deviation. Hypothesis testing by using the t-test and one-way ANOVA test of variance.
          The results showed that 1) the attitude towards premarital cohabitation of undergraduate students  it was at a medium level (mean was 3.40, standard deviation was . 53). 2) Different sex, different ages, different levels, different family status, different family income, were different attitude on towards premarital cohabitation but Students in different relationships, different GPA, and different probation students, not differently attitude on towards premarital cohabitation. 3) Students' opinions on premarital cohabitation It was found that in terms of students' thoughts, 85.26% agreed with premarital cohabitation, 72.89% in terms of feelings of acceptance, and 64.47% in behavioral tendency to live together before marriage.
