A Study the Factors Enhancing the Performance of Village Health Volunteers in the Prevention and Surveillance of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Lower Northern Provinces 1

Abstract

           The objectives of this research were to study: 1. The operational status of village health volunteers in the prevention and surveillance of Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the lower northern province of Thailand 1; The Operations of Village Health Volunteers in Prevention and Surveillance of Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Lower Northern Province 1 3. Guidelines for Promotion of Operations of Village Health Volunteers in Disease Prevention and Surveillance Coronavirus disease 2019 in the lower northern province 1, which is a quantitative and qualitative research. In quantitative research, the researcher used a sample size determined by the ready-made formula of “Taro Yamane” at a total of 400 people. The tools used for data collection were questionnaires, using descriptive statistics to find the frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation and inferential statistics for t-test and F-test One-Way ANOVA for qualitative research. The researcher used 10 interviews with key informants. The results concluded that

1. Factors affecting the operation of village health volunteers in the prevention and surveillance of the corona virus 2019 in terms of social support factors. The average is at a high level. Motivation Factors The average is at a high level. and the perception factor about the coronavirus disease 2019 was at a high average level


2. The results of the correlation analysis found that Social support factors were correlated at a high level. (r = .845**) Awareness about Coronavirus Disease 2019 had a moderate relationship (r = .458**) Moderate (r = .513**)


3. Guidelines for promoting the operation of village health volunteers in the prevention and surveillance of Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Lower Northern Province 1 is that there should be a policy that encourages village health volunteers to able to take care of themselves and be dependent on family members and people in the community In order to create a strong defense in surveillance and control of the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 and other communicable diseases in a sustainable future
