Developing Skill Indicators of Secondary School Administrator in the Office of Basic Education Commission

Abstract

          The objectives of this quantitative research were to: 1) To study the conceptual framework of skills of secondary school administrators, Office of the Basic Education Commission. 2) To study the composition and skill indicators of secondary school administrators, Office of the Basic Education Commission. 3) To examine the structural validity of the skill measurement model of secondary school administrators, Office of the Basic Education Commission. The sample group was 400 secondary school administrators in the office of the Basic education commission determined from 20 variables using multi-stage random sampling. The instrument was a questionnaire created by the researcher with the reliability level of 0.96. Usable questionnaire copies of 400 were returned. The statistics for this research were: mean, standard deviation, content analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis.
          The results of the research were as follows: 1. The results of the conceptual framework of skills of secondary school administrators consisted of 3 skills as follow; 1) Teaching Leadership Skills 2) Personnel management skills and 3) Financial management skills. 2. The results of the composition and skill indicators of secondary school administrators as follow; 1) Teaching Leadership Skills consisted of 8 skills. 2)  Personnel management skills consisted of 6 skills and 3) Financial management skills consisted of 3 skills. And 3. The results of the examination of the structural validity of the skill measurement model showed that Skill Indicators of Secondary School Administrator was consistent with the empirical data by considering the value of Goodness of fit: Chi-Square = 85.95,  df = 80,  P-Value = 0.3043, GFI = 0.98, AGFI = 0.95 and RMSEA = 0.014. The weight of each factor was between 0.91 - 1.00, and the standard weight of each indicators was between 0.26 – 0.93.
