The Development of Community Innovation Handbook for “Keyhole Garden” Based on Community Participation Process

Abstract

          The objective of this paper was to collect the lessons learned on the development of community innovation handbook which is a part of the research project, “The participatory development of community innovation based on the sufficiency economy philosophy, Nakhon Pathom.” Key informants were 10 co-researchers selected purposively from the two study areas, Wang Taku and Nong Kra Tum. They all involved in this participatory action research.  The result of lessons learned on the development of community innovation handbook is that there are 3 factors to develop and drive the innovation to the community: 1) research process and research instrument have been participatory designed in the beginning of the project. All researchers and co-researchers decide together on research process design, study area choosing innovation development, and diffusion.  2) For body of knowledge collecting regarding to keyhole garden, co-researchers such as farmer should be key person as a leader while researchers as a facilitator. And 3) During innovation Diffusion stage, co-researcher should be an innovator who adopts keyhole garden as community innovation.
