The Development of English Reading Comprehension Ability of Mathayomsuksa 2 Students Using KWL Plus Technique

Abstract

            This research aimed to 1) compare the English reading comprehension ability of students before and after learning using the KWL Plus technique and 2) To study the satisfaction of students toward the learning activities to develop their English reading comprehension ability by using KWL Plus technique. The samples used in this research were 36 students in Mathayomsuksa 2/5 studying in the second semester of the academic year 2022 at Sriyaphai School, Chumphon Province. The research tools were 1) the learning management plans using KWL Plus technique, 2) the English reading comprehension test, and 3) the satisfaction assessment form of the students towards the learning activities using KWL Plus technique. The statistics used for data analysis were dependent t-test, mean (M), and standard deviation (S.D.). The results showed that 1) the students who received the learning activities using KWL Plus technique had a statistically significant .05 higher in English reading comprehension ability after the study than before the study. Moreover, the students also had the highest level of satisfaction with learning by using KWL Plus technique.
