Democratic Citizenship of High School students in Private Islamic School, Satun Province

Abstract

          Democracy will be unstable. If an individual or a civic member of society lacks stereotypes of belief democratic attitudes and values Because democracy is a form of government. that values the people as the owners of sovereignty Emphasis on participation or the voice of the people. By using this power through various political organizations which humans have voluntarily agreed upon making a contract to form a state to act to preserve the natural rights of human beings by adhering to the principle of governing with equality freedom and dignity human beings, Therefore, the objectives of this research were 1) to study democratic citizenship of high school students.  2) To compare the differences in democratic citizenship of high school students in private Islamic schools. is exploratory research The sample group was a high school student at a private Islamic school. 400 people who participated in the Thai Citizens Project in the 4.0 era, using the citizenship questionnaire as a data collection tool. The data were analyzed by dividing the frequency (Frequency), Percentage, and calculating the mean (Mean) and Standard Deviation. 
          The results of a study on the democratic citizenship of upper secondary school students in private Islamic schools found that
          1. Students have democratic citizenship. Overall, it was at the highest level with an average of 4.23 and when considering each aspect as follows: 1. The aspect that gave the highest importance to the cultural way with an average of 4.38 at the highest level. The mean value was 4.35, 3. The emphasis on community was at the high level of 4.17, and 4. The emphasis on freedom, progress, and modernity was at the high mean. equal to 3.99 respectively
          2. Comparison of democratic citizenship of high school students Classified by population characteristics, it was found that the sample group of different sexes There is a level of opinion towards democratic citizenship. Overall and each aspect is different. with statistical significance at the .05 level, but the samples were different in age and secondary school level. There is a level of opinion toward democratic citizenship. Overall and each aspect was not significantly different at the .05 level.
