The Participation of the Public in the Conservation of Forest Resources in the area of Wang NokAen sub-district Wang Thong District Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of the public participation in the forest resources conservation, 2) to study the factors affecting the public participation in the forest resources conservation, and 3) to study the guidelines for the promotion of the public participation in the forest resources conservation This research applied the Mixed Methods Research with the Quantitative Research by collecting the questionnaires with 400 people from the calculation formula of Taro Yamane and the Qualitative Research by the in-depth interviews from 7 informants. The statistics used frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Multiple Regression Analysis (Enter Method). The data analysis used the analysis induction.
          Results of the Research 1. Overall, the level of the public participation in the forest resources conservation was at the high level. 2. The factors in the potential of the community affecting the public participation in the forest resources conservation found that the social and community factor affected the public participation in the forest resources conservation at 0.05 of statistical significance. Moreover, the factor in the promotion and support of the organization affected the public participation in the forest resources conservation at 0.01. 3. The guidelines for the promotion of the public participation in the forest resources conservation had 4 guidelines 1) strengthening the leaders of the communities, 2) having the public relations in the information and activities to the people, 3) coordinating the public sector to plan and coordinating, and 4) providing the methods of operation in the forest resources conservation.
