Participationon Water Management For Consumption of Nong Pho Sub-district Administrative Organization in Takhli District of Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to study public participation in water management ; 2)to study the relationship between Saraniyadhamma and public participation in water management; and 3) to study the guidelines for promoting public participation in water management. This was a mixed methods research consisting of the qualitative and quantitative research. For qualitative research, the sample used in the research was 383 people aged 18 years by using the substitution method ​​in Taro Yamane's formula. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient Test. Qualitative research was done by in-depth interview with key informants and Content Analysis.
          The results showed that : 1)Water management according to Saraniyadhamma, overall, was at a high level. Public participation in water management as a whole was at a high level 2)The relationship between Saraniyadhamma and public participation in water management of Nong Pho Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Takhli District, Nakhon Sawan Province found that there was a statistically significant correlation coefficient (r = 0.708) at the 0.01 level. So the hypothesis was accepted. 3) Guidelines for promoting public participation in water management found that it should be implemented in two approaches: 1) raising awareness between people and communities in using the available water resources for sufficiency; 2) participation in preparing water resource management plans among community organizations.
