Management of the Elderly Club in Nong Ruea District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

          This qualitative research aimed to explore the problems and obstacles in the management of the elderly club and to provide a problem solving guidance to be the guidelines for elderly club management of Bann Nong Ruea “Senior Citizens”, Nong Ruea District, Khon Kaen Provine. Qualitative research methods were used in this research including documentary study and in-depth interviews with 20 key informants.  The findings were synthesized to provide the guidelines for Bann Nong Ruea Elderly Club management, consisting of 2 executives and 18 members of the “Senior Citizens” club. 
          The results show that there are five dimensions of Ban Nong Ruea “Senior Citizens” Club management: participation dimension, decentralized dimension, public relations dimension, socio-economic dimension, and health care dimension. Meanwhile, the problems and obstacles in the “Senior Citizens” club can be clarified in six dimensions including participation dimension, decentralized dimension, public relations dimension, socio-economic dimension, health care dimension, and innovation and technology dimension. Likewise, five dimensions of problem-solving were provided in this research including participation dimension, decentralized dimension, public relations dimension, socio-economic dimension, and health care dimension.
