Constructing Shanxi Folk Music Erhu Ensemble Workbook for Teaching Erhu Students at Shanxi Vocational College of Art, China

The purpose of this research were (1) To study the Shanxi folk music Erhu ensemble workbook performances with experts; (2) To construct Erhu ensemble workbook for teaching at Shanxi Vocational College of Art; (3) To use Erhu ensemble workbook for teaching at Shanxi Vocational College of Art;(4) To evaluate the results of Erhu ensemble workbook for teaching at Shanxi Vocational College of Art. The research method of this study is a mixed research method combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The researchers interviewed the experts in the form of interviews, listened to the relevant suggestions of the experts, compiled the "Shanxi Folk Music Erhu ensemble teaching Work Book", and carried out the feasibility of the work book teaching experiment with 8 students from the Erhu major of Shanxi Vocational College of Art as experimental samples.
The research findings are as follows :(1) Shanxi traditional music has a long history, but it lacks the use of Erhu ensemble; (2) According to the suggestions of experts, the "Shanxi Folk music Erhu ensemble Teaching Workbook" is compiled, which is divided into four chapters: introduction, Shanxi folk song music introduction, Erhu ensemble technology, Shanxi folk song ensemble music; (3) Through the workbook teaching, through 12 lessons, students are exposed to relevant theoretical knowledge, learn relevant ensemble skills and three pieces of music, and stimulate students' interest; (4) Through the comparison of formative test and summative test, the results show that the average score of students has increased, the excellence rate has also increased, and the students' Er Hu playing level, Erhu skills, and mastery of Shanxi folk music style have made great progress. The use of this workbook has achieved the expected effect.
