The Application of Meishan Cultural Symbols in Painting

Meishan culture, a distinctive regional culture in southern China, has a long and rich history, encompassing diverse folk beliefs, artistic expressions, customs, and social structures. This paper explores the history and origins of Meishan culture, delving into its core elements and its transmission and development in modern society. By analyzing the extraction and transformation of Meishan cultural symbols and their application in art forms like painting, the unique value of Meishan culture in the modern context is revealed. Visual symbols of Meishan culture, such as paper-cutting, Nuo opera masks, and textile patterns, have been integrated with modern artistic forms, preserving their traditional characteristics while gaining new vitality in the context of globalization. This paper argues that the modern expression of Meishan culture not only enhances its dissemination and promotion across a broader spectrum but also offers valuable insights for the preservation and innovation of other local cultures. The transmission and innovation of Meishan culture demonstrate the importance of cultural diversity and the limitless possibilities of cultural integration. Meishan culture will continue to serve as a significant example of Chinese culture, providing abundant cultural resources and inspiration, contributing to the protection and development of cultural diversity.
