This paper explores the application of semiotics in contemporary Yellow River painting art. The Yellow River culture is an important part of Chinese civilization, which is reflected in paintings and has profound historical and cultural value and deep artistic charm. This paper uses semiotics to reinterpret and reconstruct the symbols of Yellow River culture, and explores its expression and functional transformation in contemporary art. In addition, through advanced technology and media, it explores the integration of traditional art and modern forms, enriching the perspective and context of Yellow River culture. This integration promotes cultural innovation, expands the scope of dissemination, and highlights the important role of semiotics in the integration of tradition and modernity. Finally, this paper emphasizes the importance of semiotics in cultural protection and innovation, and emphasizes its far-reaching impact on global art development and cultural exchanges
