Guideline Of Process-Oriented Guided-Inquiry Learning About Ecosystem and Environment to Enhance Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills For Grade 9 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the guideline of learning management using guided inquiry learning to enhance critical thinking and problem solving skills regarding ecosystems and the environment, and 2) to study the development critical thinking and problem solving skills regarding ecosystems and the environment. This research is classroom action research. The target group is 5 students in Mathayom 3 at a medium-sized extended opportunity school at Uttaradit province, semester 2, academic year 2022. The tools used in the research included learning management plans, reflection on learning management results, activity sheets, and tests to measure critical thinking and problem solving skills. the data were analysed by content analysis, averages, and percentages. The research results found that guided inquiry learning methods emphasize processes that promote critical thinking and problem solving skills regarding ecosystems and the environment, should be as follows : teachers design activities that connect the essences of learning with problem that occur in daily life to use in determining issues for students. Students will study the essences through the work group process. Strategies for solving problems are created. Define roles and theire responsibilities have to management of the work process by itself Including examining the essentials of self-learning. From the discussion of empirical evidence undered the facilitation of teachers. and The results of implementer of the guided inquiry learning management, emphasizing processes that promote critical thinking and problem solving skills regarding ecosystems and the environment for all 3 operational cycles. found that students showed the highest in component 1, understanding. Accounted for 66.67 percent and component 9, inspection and reflection on operations, was the lowest. accounting for 35.00 percent, respectively.
