Research on the social memory and educational inheritance of Zhuang brocade art in Guangxi, China

The purpose of this qualitative survey is to analyze the practice of the inheritance of zhuang brocade techniques in the national intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, study the way of local communities to construct social memory in the education of zhuang brocade skills in Guangxi, and how the intangible cultural heritage can be inherited through education. The researchers collected data through literature review and field survey on the main production areas of Guangxi Zhuang brocade. The results showed that in the process of inheriting Zhuang brocade skills through education, various voices jointly constructed the social memory of Zhuang brocade. The change of social structure and cultural values will lead to the rupture of social memory and affect the inheritance and development of zhuang brocade skills. The non-genetic inheritance base and schools have the responsibility and obligation to undertake the education, inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage.
