The Development of Learning Achivement in Computing Science on Data Management for Matthayomsuksa 5 Though Data Management Technology E-Book Series

Abstract

          This research studied problem conditions and guidelines for the development of learning achievement in computational science subject on data management. by using electronic books aimed to (1) develop and find efficiency of a set of electronic books “Data Management Technology” for Matthayomsuksa 5 students, the Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (Secondary) to be efficient in accordance with the 80/80 criteria; and to (2) compare the achievement of data management technology of Matthayomsuksa 5 students, the Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (Secondary), using electronic books for regular study. The samples were Matthayomsuksa 5 students, the Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (Secondary), Bangkok, Semester 1, 2021, from 2 classes, i.e., 31 students of the treatment class and 33 students of the control class obtained by purposive sampling. The results of the pretest from both classes were insignificantly different (p ≥ .05). The instruments were 1) electronic books, 2) an instructional management plan with the use of electronic books, 3) a regular instructional management plan, and 4) an achievement test on data management, with reliability of 0.89. The data was analyzed by percentage, mean ( ), SD, and independent t-test.    
          The findings revealed as follows. 1) the set of electronic books “Data Management Technology” for Matthayomsuksa 5 students had efficiency of 81.47/81.67, in accordance with the criteria. 2) the achievement of data management technology of Matthayomsuksa 5 students using electronic books was significantly higher than regular study (p < .05).
