Abstract

            This research is to cross-cultural study in the socialization of local-wisdom for creative food package by 3 aims 1) Study and compare between Japanese and Thai culture in direction and process of the wisdom knowledge transferring. 2) To develop the local wisdom for creative food package transformative special program in the curriculum. 3) To explore the creativity in high school level students: grade 10 from 4 schools: 4 parts of Thailand sampling. The research has based on mixed methodology started with qualitative and following by quantitative method. And the one-group experimental process has been used.         

            The result has shown the contents of local Thai and Japan wisdom and the process of food packaging, which they were similarity and differentiation in both aspects: details and procedures. Details: The geographical data has shown the differentiation in ethnology and climate. Therefore Thai and Japanese, both are having their own culture and tradition which obviously dissimilar. There are perfectly formed cultures and preservation wisdoms especially for food packaging in each community. Besides, there are varieties of natural raw material for wrapping and containing. Procedures: Thai focus on the direction of dictations, stories and formulas while Japanese mostly focus on special inquiries, state situations by self-learnings. The researcher has synthesized the creative learning development of food packaging in world-class school’s curriculum by the analysis of both countries. The solution of those synthesis become the multi-disciplinary program of 3 subjects: History, Professional Area & Technology and English. The program contain 24 hours and continuing-study in 4 days. The program has brought to the experimental stage of this research which were actioned in Grade 11 of 4 schools in 4 parts of Thailand.

            The evaluation from pre-posttests in students from 4 schools showed the upper level of wisdom knowledge and skills. The attitude test was positive. The performance test evaluation obviously showed the higher level in creativity from new food-package of each prototypes. Therefore, the creative learning development of local-wisdom food packaging synthesized by the Thai-Japanese Cross-Cultural Study can absolutely establish Thai student mindset of food packaging creativity in Thailand’s World-Class Secondary School.
