Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop a web-based basic mathematics learning management system to be effective according to the 80/80 criteria, 2) to compare the learning achievement of basic mathematics before and after learning through the web-based learning management system, and 3) to study satisfaction with the web-based learning management system. The sample group was 30 undergraduate students enrolled in Calculus I at a University, selected through purposive sampling. The tools used in the research included learning management plans, an achievement test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in the data analysis included arithmetic mean (M), standard deviation (SD), and Paired Samples t-test to compare students' learning achievement before and after using the web-based learning management system. The results showed that 1) the developed learning management system was more effective than the specified criteria in all experimental groups. In particular, the effective sample of 83.00/83.65 met the specified criteria, 2) the learning achievement of students after learning was higher than before, with the average score showing a statistically significant increase at the 0.05 level, and 3) satisfaction with the learning management system was rated at the highest level (M = 4.75, SD = 0.44).
