This research aims to study the awareness of the change in knowledge and skills in the air transport business under the COVID-19 situation and the expectations on the education of business students.
The samples in this study were 305 students from two business management programs related to air transport at Rangsit University, which are the aviation business program and the logistics and supply chain program. The questionnaire was used as a research tool. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and the opinion mean differences were tested by t-test and one-way analysis of variance.
The results showed that all respondents were interested in working in the air transport business but chose to study in different majors depending on future career expectations, that is, Aviation Business students wanted to work in the hospitality area whereas Logistics and Supply Chain students wanted to work in the import-export business. The study also found that students in both programs had the same high recognition of the change in major knowledge and skills needed for working in the business organization during the COVID-19 situation in all four areas; management skills, commercial skills, people skills and technology skills. In comparison to the expectations in education for the future career of business students, there was a statistically significant difference in the two areas of expectation; the content of the curriculum and
the lecturers’ credibility.
