The objectives of this research were to 1) to investigate the current state of the
instruction of the STEM-enriched curriculum designed to develop the students’ creative
and productive thinking skills; 2) to develop a STEM-enriched curriculum to enhance the
students’ creative and productive thinking skills; and 3) to evaluate the implementation
of the curriculum. The research methodology comprise of: 1) investigation of management and provision of STEM-enriched curriculums to promote students’ creative and productive thinking skills; 2) development of the STEM-enriched curriculum; 3) pilot
implementation; and 4) evaluation of curriculum implementation. The sample comprised
48 Prathomsuksa 4 students at Anuban Pranee School in Suphanburi province. The study
was conducted during the first semester of the academic year of 2017.
The results of the research were as follows:
1) It was found that the current state of instruction of the STEM-enriched
curriculum was at low level of the operation. It is recommended that the direction of
Thai education should be adjusted.
2) The STEM-enriched curriculum entails 4 elements: (1) objective, (2) content,
(3) implementation, and (4) evaluation. The learning process that leads to the
development of creativity and creative thinking consists of 6 steps: (1) questioning,
(2) information search, (3) synthesis of knowledge, (4) creative working, (5) summarizing
the knowledge, and (6) presenting. The evaluation of the curriculum quality and the
instructional plan, on average, was found to be at the very high and high levels.
3) After the implementation, it was found that the posttest scores measuring their
creative and productive skills were higher than the pretest scores at the significant level
of 0.05.
