Abstract
The purpose of this academic article is to explain the subject matter of critical participatory action research: definition, features, objectives, and procedure steps. These were developed more distinctly to be advantageous to planning and doing research for researchers. Critical participatory action research emphasizes changing the educational practices of the people who are involved in or affected by the practices in their specific area to be more educational. Moreover, changing from untoward consequences to the satisfied consequences of the practices can transform the practice architectures (cultural-discursive arrangement, material-economic arrangement, and social-political arrangement) and the practices (more rational in saying, more productive and sustainable in doing, and more just and inclusive in relating). Finally, these may lead to the way that people have self-expression, self-development, and self-determination, which are important aspects in the definition of education.
