Abstract

Abstract

The objectives research were: 1) survey the state of ethics and morality imbuement for enhancing desirable graduate attributes of higher education institutions in central region network of higher education institutions; 2) develop ethical and moral indicators for enhancing desirable graduate attributes; and 3) present ethics and morality imbuement guidelines for enhancing desirable graduate attributes. The data was collected from the administrators and lecturers were from higher education institutions in central region network of higher education institutions, administrators and lecturers whose works involved promoting and incorporating ethics and morality in the said students were the institutions’ representatives in giving comments and suggestions through focus group and senior experts were chosen by means of purposive sampling to represent a group of concerned persons or stakeholders in ethical and moral indicator development. Moreover, the mix methods research. The research tools were the questionnaire on the survey and record form. The data were analyzed using the frequency, percentage and content analysis.

The research results revealed that 1) The state of ethics and morality imbuement for enhancing desirable graduate attributes in 3 groups of higher education institution (general university, specialty institution and medical and nursing university). There were 2 principal ways: the ethics and morality are promoted process in the educational curriculum. Also, the extracurricular promotion. 2) There were 15 suitable ethical and moral indicators to be imbued into high education students: honesty, self- and social responsibility, discipline, dedication, patience, diligence, gratitude, professional ethics, harmony, economy and sufficiency, appreciation, tolerance, humility, faith in religion, and tact. 3) The 2 levels of ethics and morality imbuement guideline for enhancing desirable graduate attributes were policy level and operational level
