A STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL OF FACTOR EFFECTIVENESS TO BE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES FOR BASIC EDUCATION SCHOOL

Abstract

       The objectives of this research were 1) investigate the congruence of the Structure Equation Model of factor Effectiveness to be Professional Learning Communities for basic education school with the empirical data 2) test measurement invariance of the Structure Equation Model of of factor Effectiveness to be Professional Learning Communities for basic education school  with the different size of schools and 3) study factors Professional Learning Communities of basic education school. The multi-stage random sampling were 675 schools, Providers include :Teacher and administrators of educational institutions the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The research instruments applied for data gathering were an in-depth interview form and a questionnaire which its reliability was 0.90. The data were analyzed in the forms of descriptive and inferential statistics and Mplus program.


           The structural equation model of factor Effectiveness to be Professional Learning Communities for the basic education school by the researcher showed a goodness-of-fit with statistical data as follows: = 259.269  df = 229  P-value = 0.070  /df = 1.132 CFI = 0.993  TLI = 0.997  RMSEA = 0.020  SRMR = 0.023


           Transformational leadership had the highest total influence on professional learning communities of basic education school of 0.774, communication of 0.730, trust of 0.467, organization Structure of 0.273, and organizational commitment of 0.147 respectively. It found that there was significantly difference at .01 level. All the five  factors, which are the causes, were 83.70% explained the professional learning communities of basic education school. The invariance test of the model showed that there was invariant among the different sizes of schools.


            Application guidelines for the factors influenced professional learning communities of basic education school consist of 1) Transformational leadership, 2) Communication, 3) Trust, 4) organization Structure.  For General School with 13 ways, namely 1) to be role models. 2) Creating a learning network with stakeholders. 3) Empower teachers 4) Provide resources to support professional learning Development of Teamwork 5) Create a teamwork culture for learning. 6) Teachers' mentoring system for professional guidance. 7) Teacher role adjustment. 8) Teachers free to develop profession. 9) Teachers to develop research for development. 10) development of technology and information systems; 11) creation of a culture of professional critical discussion; 12) reduction of teaching time for professional learning; and 13) development of communication and use of technology in learning. The guidelines for small schools (additional) are the development of teacher monitoring and evaluation systems. The guidelines for large schools (additional) are the development of teacher monitoring and evaluation systems. And rotating work for professional learning.
