The Role of Shan Music in Traditional Culture Mae Hong Son Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the role of Shan music in the culture and traditions of Mueang District Mae Hong Son Province and 2. to study role of Shan music to promote tourism in Mueang District Mae Hong Son Province. This is qualitative research The research instrument is an interview form There is a target group of 26 people who were selected specifically. The data collected from various documents and the interview forms were analyzed content analysis. The research results found that 1) The role of Shan music in culture and traditions of Mae Hong Son Province that comes from the role of Shan music in culture and traditions consisting of 1.1) The role of Shan music in culture and traditions 1.2) Chong Para Procession Tradition 1.3) Long Phong Tai Tradition 1.4) Poy Sang Long Tradition 1.5) Poy Cha Ti Tradition and 2) The role of Shan music to promote tourism in Mueang District Mae Hong Son Province consisting of 2.1) The role of Shan music to promote tourism 2.2) Sword dance 2.3) Fon Nok or King Kara dance and 2.4) Fon To performance, namely, fon to performance is a performance of the Shan people To in the belief of the Shan people is an animal from the Himmapan according to the belief of the Shan people.
