Guidelines for Developing Digital Leadership of School Administrators under Maha Sarakham Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1. to study the components and indicators of digital leadership among school administrators 2. to examine the current conditions, desirable conditions and priority needs of digital leadership among school administrators and 3. to develop guidelines for enhancing digital leadership among school administrators. This is a mixed-methods research study combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research instrument was a questionnaire and interview. The sample group consisted of 285 school administrators and teachers, determined using Taro Yamane's formula (1973) at a 0.05 margin of error, with stratified random sampling employed. The data collected from the questionnaire were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, consisting of percentage, mean, standard deviation and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNIModified) and the interview data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings revealed that 1) The current state of digital leadership overall was at a moderate level (x̅= 3.36, S.D. = 0.41), while the desirable state was at the highest level (x̅= 4.91, S.D. = 0.25) 2) The priority needs index (PNImodified), ranked from highest to lowest, were as follows having a digital vision, digital communication, digital professionalism, building digital networks for learning and building a digital learning culture and 3) The proposed development guidelines were rated as highly appropriate (x̅= 4.25, S.D. = 0.49) and had the highest level of feasibility (x̅= 4.52, S.D. = 0.48).
