The Guideline of Innovative Leadership Development for School Administrator Under MahaSaraKham Primary Education Service Area Office 3

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1.  to study the components and indicators of innovative leadership among school administrators 2. to study the current conditions, desirable conditions and priority needs (PNI) of innovative leadership among school administrators under the Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 and 3. to study guidelines for developing innovative leadership among school administrators under the Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. This is a mixed-methods research study combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research instruments consisted of a questionnaire, a development guidelines assessment form and a semi-structured interview form. The sample group comprised 285 people, with sample size calculated using the Taro Yamane (1973) formula at a 0.05 margin of error and the target group comprised 20 people, selected through purposive sampling. Data collected from the questionnaire and the development guidelines assessment form were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, consisting of frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation and the Priority Needs Index (PNI), while data collected from the interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The findings revealed that 1) the components and indicators of innovative leadership among school administrators consisted of 5 components and 31 indicators, with appropriateness evaluated at 100 percent 2) the overall current condition was at a moderate level (x̅= 3.47, S.D. = 0.04), while the overall desirable condition was at the highest level (x̅= 4.93, S.D. = 0.02) and the overall Priority Needs Index was at the highest level (PNI = 0.42). When considering each aspect in descending order, the findings were as follows innovative vision and strategic planning, teamwork and participation, risk management and rational risk-taking, innovative creative thinking and technology utilization with innovative leadership and 3) the guidelines for developing innovative leadership among school administrators were evaluated at the highest level in terms of appropriateness (x̅= 4.73, S.D. = 0.46) and feasibility (x̅= 4.80, S.D. = 0.39).
