The Development of a Participatory Model for Monitoring and Promoting the Development of Children Aged 2-5 Years at Ban Phaeng Child Development Center Phaeng Sub-district Kosum Phisai District Mahasarakham Province

This research consists purposes were 1. to Study the process of developing a participatory model for monitoring and promoting the development of children aged 2-5 years in the Ban Phaeng Early Childhood Development Center and 2. to Study the effects of developing the participatory model for monitoring and promoting the development of children aged 2-5 years in the Ban Phaeng Early Childhood Development Center. This study employed a mixed-methods research design, integrating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research instruments consisted of a structured interview guide, a questionnaire and an observation record form. The study participants comprised local government administrators, relevant network stakeholders, and parents of preschool children enrolled at Ban Phaeng Child Development Center. A total of 110 participants were selected through purposive sampling. The quantitative data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data obtained from the interviews and observations were analyzed using content analysis to identify, interpret and synthesize the key themes and findings. The research results found that 1) The study process consisted of 7 steps, the first of which was studying the context of the Phaeng Subdistrict area. The research process involved seven steps: (1) Problem analysis (2) Selection of research participants (3) Data collection 4) Workshop activities to analyze problems, causes and plan actions (5) Implementation of the action plan (6) Monitoring, tracking and evaluation and (7) Lessons learned, analysis of problems, obstacles, solutions and success factors and 2) The results of the participation study showed that the target group participated highly in the monitoring and promotion of child development for children aged 2-5 years at Ban Phaeng Child Development Center, Phaeng Sub-district Kosum Phisai District, Maha Sarakham Province, with 36 participants (55.39%). A moderate level of participation was observed in 16 participants (24.61%) and a low level in 13 participants (20.00%) (x̅= 2.33, S.D. =0.60). The research findings should emphasize the participatory process of community stakeholders in driving effective and efficient early childhood development surveillance and promotion. Local administrative organizations should establish policies related to early childhood development and must oversee, monitor and evaluate their implementation to ensure the success of early childhood development surveillance and promotion initiatives.
