Strategic Leadership of Local Government Leaders Case Study Mr.Samran Yangsila Headman of Phrom Sawan Sub-district Phon Thong District Roi Et Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to examine the strategic leadership of a local administrative leader Mr.Samran Yangsila, Subdistrict Headman (Kamnan) of Phromsawan Sub-district Phon Thong District Roi Et Province 2. to analyze the problems and obstacles related to strategic leadership of local leaders in this case study and 3. to propose guidelines for solving problems and overcoming obstacles in the strategic leadership of local administrative leaders based on this case. This research is a qualitative study The research instrument was in-depth interviews. The key informants consisted of six groups totaling 26 participants, selected through purposive sampling. The data collected from documentary sources and interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The research findings revealed that 1) regarding the issue of strategic leadership of local administrative leaders, the leader demonstrated strong self-confidence, the courage to make decisions in various situations, broad vision, and decisiveness 2) Regarding the problems and obstacles in strategic leadership, it was found that in some situations the leader’s decisions did not align with the opinions of local residents, and the leader lacked roles and authority in allocating resources within the area of responsibility and 3) Regarding guidelines for solving problems and overcoming obstacles in strategic leadership, it was found that the leader should maintain a good personality and professional demeanor, which are essential for building trust and credibility among subordinates and the public.
