This research consists purposes were 1. to study the general condition of the Khok Kao Kho forest Ban Khuen, Khuen Subdistrict Kosum Phisai District Maha Sarakham Province. 2. to study the problem situation of the Khok Kao Kho forest Ban Khuen Khuen Subdistrict Kosum Phisai District Maha Sarakham Province and 3. to study the guidelines for managing the Khok Kao Kho forest with participation of Ban Khuen Khuen Subdistrict Kosum Phisai District Maha Sarakham Province This is a qualitative research. The research instrument is an interview form. The target group is 40 people who were selected purposively. The data collected from documents, timeline processes, aerial photographs, and interview forms were content analysis. The results of the study showed that 1) The general condition of the Khok Kho forest in the west of the village is a hump or non area as a mixed forest with a total forest area of 1,595 rai with many large and medium-sized trees with tropical and humid climate characteristics and sandy soil with perennial trees. Medicinal plants 2) The situation of the old Khok Kho forest problem found that encroachment by digging the soil Cutting wood Clearing forest areas for agriculture, destroying forest resources and ecosystems. It affects the soil and wildlife. As a result, participation in community forest management may have problems with forest management due to conflicts between people in the community who have been together for a long time and 3) Guidelines for participatory management of the old Khok Kho forest are as follows: 3.1) Management guidelines to prevent forest encroachment to expand livelihoods or others, such as afforestation activities to restore nature. Raise community awareness to participate. Creating ideas for people in the community to love and cherish the forest and 3.2) Guidelines for creating public participation in forest management by establishing a conservation group to maintain forest areas to reduce encroachment by people in the area by appointing a working group of the group to carry out activities throughout the year, such as issuing joint regulations and inspecting forests.
