The Creative Performance of Magnificent Spectacular Dance Based on Cultural Base of Western Ethnicity: A case study of Thai-Dam Art Style in Phetchaburi Province

This research consists purposes were 1. to study culture and art context of ethnic groups in the western region and 2. to create performing arts by the community based on the cultural capital of ethnic groups in the western region including Thai Song Dam as ethnic group, Ban Khao Yoi Community, Phetchaburi Province. This is a qualitative research with research tools consisting of an interview form with a target group of 80 people who were selected purposively. The information gathered from interview forms and related documents were then content analysis. The results showed that 1) Khao Yoi community, Khao Yoi district, Phetchaburi province is an area rich in arts and culture suitable for creating performances. Most of the local people are black Thais who still practice and pass on traditions. Traditions that are worthy of belief are related to the lives of people in the community, starting with birth traditions, ordination traditions, and death traditions. All of these traditions help people in the community feel confident in their lives, and create love and unity among family members and communities. 2) The black Thai ethnic group has a performance set called Natyawithi Sin Thap Thai Dam, a performance that reflects the identity, culture, way of life, and products of the black Thai ethnic group in Khao Yoi sub-district, Phetchaburi province. The performance uses the Khaen dance and the characteristics of using woven machinery or products from the community as inspiration for creating the performance. The performance is presented in the form of a folk dance performance using various types of Khaen dances and the characteristics of using woven machinery of the black Thai ethnic group, which reflects the way of life and traditions of the ethnic group.
