The Guidelines for Promoting Public Participation in The Local Development of Ladchado Subdistrict Municipality Phakhai District Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality Phakhai district Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya province 2. to compare the public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality, Phakhai district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya province, classified by individual factors, namely gender, age, educational level, career, income and marital status and 3. to examine the guidelines for promoting public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality, Phakhai district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya province. This study was mixed methods research: quantitative and quality research. The instruments used for the study were questionnaire and interview forms. The sample were 376 informants using Taro Yamane, 0.05 with proportional stratified random sampling.  For quantitative research, the statistics were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, One – way ANOVA, and double test (LSD). In terms of qualitative research, the 10 interview forms were conducted by content analysis. The findings were as follows: 1) The public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality, Phakhai district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya province was at a high level. Considering with ranking from the highest to the lowest mean, the public participation for decision and the public participation for benefits were the highest aspect. Meanwhile, the public participation for operation was the lowest aspect; 2) The different income for informants indicated the different public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality, Phakhai district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The public participation both operation and evaluation were at statistical significance of .05 and 3) There were guidelines and suggestions for promoting public participation in the local development of Ladchado subdistrict municipality, Phakhai district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya, namely (1) propagating the action plan with various channels monthly or quarterly and (2) disclosing public information.
