Chuichai Angkattalai: Gender in the Artificial Performance Process of Jatuporn Rattanawaraha National Artist.

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study biographies and the work of Jatuporn Rattanawaraha, a national artist 2.to study dancing inventions Chuichai Angkatthalai of Jatuporn Ratanawaraha, a national artist. and 3.to study gender in dancing artifacts. Chui Chai Ankattalai by Jatuporn Rattanawaraha, a national artist. is qualitative research. There were research tools, namely interview and observation forms, with a target group of 21 people from specific selection. The information gathered from research tools and related documents were then content analysis. The results of the study found that 1) Jatuporn Rattanawaraha played a crucial role in the Thai dance community, particularly as a giant pantomime and a knowledge transfer agent to dancers, teachers, and students. He also took on responsibilities in managing and developing the College of Dramatic Arts. 2) alongside creating innovative works that showcased his advanced skills in performing the glorious Chuichai Angkattalai. These performances were a creation inspired by Nang Angkattalai, a female giant who embodied male giant behaviour and character. Jatuporn combined dance moves traditionally associated with male and female giants, resulting in a beautiful invention and 3) Through the gender aspect of the dancing process, the Chuichai Angkattalai displayed the knowledge and dance landscape accumulated over time, incorporating the special characteristics of the characters with Jatuporn Rattanawaraha's advanced skills as a national artist. Overall, the research sheds light on the important role of Jatuporn Rattanawaraha in Thai dance and his creative works that express his ideas and skills.
