Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study problem related to the recovery and rehabilitation of drug users and 2. to form recommendations for appropriate approaches and legal measures that could improve current legislation regarding the rehabilitation of drug users. This was qualitative research using the documentary research method. The author compiled data from relevant documents including books, textbooks, theses, academic articles, legal research reports and relevant Internet sources from Thailand and other countries. related to the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts Then the information gathered from relevant documents is analyzed in terms of content. The results of the study found that 1) Thailand has set out about the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addict narcotics laws but it does not comprehensively encompass sufficient measures for law enforcement officers or other government officers to shepherd offenders into proper rehabilitation programs. There is still a lack of checks and balances in the performance of duties. Measures are still lacking to address cases of individuals who have been through the recovery process, who are guilty of repeat drug abuse offences, or who are accused of other offences along with narcotics charges, And the treatment and rehabilitation measures for drug addicts have not yet been established.
