Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the opinions of the people towards the role of political leaders in to strengthen local democracy according to decentralization principles 2. to study ways to promote the role of political leaders and to strengthen local democracy according to decentralization principles and 3. to study the application of the Sappuridharma principle to strengthen political leaders. is a research that combines quantitative and qualitative research. There are research tools such as questionnaires and interview forms. A total of 400 people were sampled from the sample size calculation using Taro Yamane's formula (1973) at an error of 0.05, and randomized samples were performed at convenience. and a target group of 30 people who came from a specific selection The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of percentage, mean, standard deviation. and information obtained from the interview and various related documents for content analysis. The results showed that 1) The level of people's opinion towards the role of political leaders and the promotion of local democracy according to the principle of decentralization. Overall, it was at a high level (x̅ = 3.74). When considering each aspect, it was found that it was at a high level in all aspects, namely 1.1) local political participation (x̅ = 4.11) 1.2) participation in local politics. Monitor and monitor local operations (x̅ = 3.57) 1.3) Participation in local administration (x̅ = 3.55), respectively. 2) Approaches to promoting the role of political leaders and building local democracy according to decentralization principles, namely, political leaders seek knowledge. To create knowledge and understanding for people about the principles of local democracy enhancing the process of public participation There is a channel for accessing people quickly and giving people the opportunity to express their opinions on the performance of their duties. and 3) The application of the Sappuridharma principles to strengthen political leaders is that the political leaders understand the problems and people's needs Know how to pose properly know their roles and responsibilities There is an order of importance There is a budget for local development. Reach out to as many people as possible to find potential individuals in the community and promote their role in participating in the community.
