The Development of the Student’ life skill using the concept of professional learning community in The Secondary Education Service area office 25.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1. to investigate the current condition and the desirable condition for the development of the students’ life skills using the concept of the professional learning community and 2. to develop the concept of the development of the students’ life skills using the concept of the professional learning community. This study was mixed methods research (quantitative research and qualitative research). The instruments used were a questionnaire and an interview form. All sample participants were secondary school teachers in The Secondary Education Service area office 25, the academic year 2020. The sample of 351 participants from all of them was selected using Krejcie and Morgan sample size table. The primary data for this study from the questionnaire were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics tools that consisted of percentage, median, standard deviation. The secondary data were calculated to be the current condition and the priority needs an index. Furthermore, others data from documents and the interview form were collected and analyzed in case of content analyses. Base on the findings, it was concluded that 1) the overall current condition of the development of the students’ life skills using the concept of the professional learning community is on a medium level (x̅=3.66, S.D. = 0.66), the overall desirable condition is on a high level (x̅= 4.27, S.D. = 0.64), and 2) ways to improve the students’ life skills using the concept of the professional learning community: 2.1) critical thinking and decision-making skills development using the concept of professional learning community 2.2) self-awareness and empathy skills and corporate social responsibility skills development using the concept of professional learning community 2.3) emotions and stress management skills development and 2.4) communication and interpersonal skills development using the concept of professional. A director and teachers planned on a vision, an obligation, and a target together. They also accompanied the identical leadership to support the students' life skills development. A term of processing had been got on with the teamwork system. In addition, there were learning and professional development evaluation and revision.
