The Army Officers’ Attitude Toward Political Participation: A Cast Study of Eight Battalion Engineer First Chivalry Division Headquarter Phetchabun.

Abstract

This article purposed to 1. study the political participation attitude of the Army Officers, affiliated to 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Phetchabun and 2. study factors influencing the political participation attitude of the Army Officers, affiliated to 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Phetchabun. The research was designed as a Survey Research using Quantitative Methodology. Research Instrument was a questionnaire. Data was collected from the whole population, 103 officers of 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Phetchabun. Data was analyzed by statistics; a percentage, a mean, a standard deviation; including the Hypothesis testing using t-test and One Way ANOVA with the statistical significance at 0.05 Result of the research found that the overall Officers had a moderate attitude on the political participation. The highest-rated aspect was a political participation attitude, while the lowest rated aspect was a social equality attitude aspect. Factors influencing the political participation attitude of the officers at the statistical significance at 0.05 were; age, educational level, income rate, political heed, democratic ideology, affirmative political interest, and political achievement. While there was no statistical significance in factors of  marriage status, periods of office, and chain of command.
