Lecturer Thai Political Parties: Guidelines for Strengthening and Institutionalizing Political Party.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1. study Thai political parties’ strengthening guidelines; 2. study Thai political parties’ institutionalization guidelines. This was a qualitative research. Research methodology was a documentary research, including a logical descriptive analysis and critics. Research result were; 1) Thai political parties have been had a long-standing. The trend was first developed since the promulgation of the first Organic Law on Political parties in 1955. The development of Thai political parties could be classified into 4 eras – the authoritarian era, semi-democracy era, the democracy era, and the political reform era. In any cases, following Angelo Panebianco’s theory, the crucial obstacles of the party-strengthened development were a repeatedly coup d’etat, a frequently repeal Constitutions; 2) in following Samuel P. Huntington’s principles, Thai political parties were not matcked up with a concept of institutionalization.So, suggestion of the research to strengthening and institutionalizing Thai political parties were the simultaneously development of political system, politicians, and people.
