Abstract

This research purpose 1. to study causes and elements on the legal reform in the reign of King Rama V; 2. to study the procedures of the legal reform in the reign of King Rama V; 3. to study the result of the legal reform in the reign of King Rama V. This was a qualitative research using a Historicism methodology via a logical descriptive analysis on documents, historical and academical. Result of the research found; 1) the becoming of the Western colonialism/imperialism in the reign of King Rama IV precipitateก Siam into the Legal and Court reform; 2) Thai Legal system reform was followed the Japanese model by organizing the Court system first whilst the outputs of the reform, the Legal Sytem resembling a Western Legal system, came finally; 3) results of the reform was that the Thai Legal Sytem resembling a Western Legal system was employed as possess on a Legal and Court independence contending with the Western colonialism/imperialism which succeed in 1395
