Abstract

Organizations around the world today have been facing with a common challenge: the need to improve their operations in order to keep pace with rapid changes. If an organization was unable to adapt to the changes and unable to innovate, the organization may not fully utilize its knowledge. Nowadays, information technology plays an important role in organizational knowledge management. It consisted of communication technology that would allow us to access knowledge easily, conveniently and quickly or collaboration support technology that would help coordinate worked efficiently and storage technology that would help store and managed knowledge that occurred inside and outside the organization. The collection of knowledge that existed in the organization, which was scattered in individuals or documents, to be developed into a system so that everyone in the organization could access knowledge and develop themself to be knowledgeable including working efficiently which would result in the organization having the highest competitiveness. An organization that would be successful in knowledge management must consider 3 key factors: people, process, and technology to bring innovation in knowledge management.
