Abstract
The dissertation entitled “The Guidelines for the Development of Teachers Based on Magguppāda-Pubbanimitta in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani Province” consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the conditions of teachers’ development in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province; and 2) to propose the guidelines for the development of teachers based on Magguppāda-Pubbanimitta in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province. The dissertation employed a descriptive research method. The population of the research consisted of 340 teachers of Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province. A sample consisted of 181 teachers of Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province. The key informants consisted of 9 experts. The research instruments included 5-point rating scale and the guidelines for the development of teachers based on Magguppāda-Pubbanimitta in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation (S.D.) From the content analysis and synthesis, the research results were as follows: 1) the conditions of teachers’ development in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province overall was at a high level (= 4.31 and S.D. = 0.45). When considering each aspect, it was found that the condition of teachers’ development in maintaining disciplines was at a high level (= 4.34 and S.D. = 0.48); the condition of teacher development in virtue and morality was at a high level (= 4.29 and S.D. = 0.50); and the condition of teacher development on the effectiveness of performance was at a high level (= 4.26 and S.D. = 0.47). 2) From the study, it was found that there were four guidelines for the development of teachers based on Magguppāda-Pubbanimitta in the Sakaekrang United Secondary Schools, Uthai Thani province as follows: 1) the teachers' development in maintaining disciplines by which the administrators ought to create an organizational culture of maintaining disciplines as a policy as well encouraging teachers to maintain disciplines at all times; 2) the teachers’ development in virtue and morality by which the administrators ought to send teachers for training or studying from outside organizations in order to realize the changes and focus on finding more knowledge to adapt themselves to the changes; 3) the teachers’ development on the effectiveness of performance by which the administrators should organize the curriculum development for teachers by focusing on building motivation and supporting teachers to do research and create innovations for the benefit of students; and 4) The evaluation of teachers’ development
