Factors affecting the Decision to participate in the short-course online training on qualitative research (Thai language)

Abstract
This Article aimed to study the needs for the short-course training and to study factors affecting the decision to participate in short-course online training on qualitative research (Thai version). The research model is quantitative research. The Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University was used as the studied area. 299 sample were surveyed on their need to participate in the future short-course online training. Samples were trainees of the Institute for Population and Social Research during 2008-2019. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed to analyze factors affecting interest in attending the institute's training. The findings showed that age influenced the decision to participate in online training. The sample group aged between 40-50 years had twice the chance to decide to participate in online training than the sample group aged 50 years and over (Adjusted odds ratio: AOR = 2.07; P-value = 0.02). The training through electronic media had a great influence on the decision to participate in the training. It was found that those who valued having online channels or having training channels through electronic media was 1.57 times more likely to participate in future training than the unimportant group, while other factors related to customer needs did not significantly influence the decision to participate in future training. The study highlighted the need to prepare for the provision of online short-term training courses.
