Development of quality management in the cosmeceutical industry

Abstract

This Article aimed to study (1) To describe the context of quality management of companies in the cosmeceutical industry. (2) To identify quality management problems of cosmetic companies, and (3) To propose a model for the development of quality management of companies in the cosmeceutical industry This research is a qualitative research with 15 key informants, including personnel, partners and customers. Data was collected by using in-depth interviews and participant observations and non-participant observations.  Analyze the data by essence analysis.


Research results (1) The quality management context consists of policies, guidelines, principles, operating processes, and departments responsible for quality management. (2) Quality management problems consist of (2.1) As for the creation of resolutions, it was found that the resolutions lacked clarity. (2.2) In leadership, it was found that personnel lacked of confidence and responsibility. (2.3) In terms of cooperation, it was found that some employees lacked of cooperation. (2.4) Pride building It was found that the employees did not take pride in their work. (2.5) In terms of focusing on product quality over cost, it was found that the external economic factors put pressure on costs. (2.6) In terms of emphasizing the quality of the work, it was found that the quality of the work is affected by cost pressures. (2.7) Production control, it was found that there was no production control in accordance with the plan. (2.8) In terms of regular training, it was found that the training content did not match the mission of the job. (2.9) In terms of creating a learning atmosphere, it was found that employees lacked motivation to learn new things. (2.10) As for the preparation of educational plans for quality improvement, it was found that the agency was unable to convince employees of the importance of education. (2.11) In terms of implementing the change to be successful, it was found that employees lacked the motivation to take action. (3) The quality management model is the initiative on the following issues: (3.1) building a teamwork system. (3.2) Building confidence for pride in work. (3.3) Raising awareness for quality management, and (3.4) creating a happy working atmosphere and environment.
