เจตคติและความคาดหวังของชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม

บทคัดย่อ

มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามมีนโยบายในการกระจายโอกาสทางการศึกษาจึงได้มีการเพิ่มพื้นที่ และย้ายศูนย์กลางที่ตั้งเดิมจากตำบลตลาด อำเภอเมือง มาที่ตำบลขามเรียงและมีพื้นที่ติดต่อกับ ตำบลท่าขอนยาง อำเภอกันทรวิชัย จังหวัดมหาสารคาม ซึ่งเป็นชุมชนชนบทดั้งเดิมมีการสืบทอด วัฒนธรรมมายาวนาน จึงนำซึ่งการเปลี่ยนแปลงหลายด้าน เช่น การขยายตัวทางเศรษฐกิจ การคมนาคม การนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้ในชุมชนมากขึ้น เหล่านี้ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นผลมาจากการเพิมขึ้นของจำนวนประชากรที่เป็นนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ดังนั้น ผู้วิจัยจึงได้ศึกษาเจตคติและความคาดหวังของชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามโดยมีความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัย คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาเจตคติของชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบเจตคติของชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามที่มีเพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา อาชีพ ที่อยู่ปัจจุบัน แตกต่างกัน และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาความคาดหวังของ ชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม และทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจาก ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่รอบมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม5ชุมชนได้แก่ชุมชนบ้านท่าขอนยางชุมชน บ้านขามเรียง ชุมชนบ้านดินดำ ชุมชนศรีสวัสดิ์ และชุมชนปัจฉิมทัศน์ จำนวน 468 คน โดยการ เลือกแบบโควต้า (Quota) ใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือ สถิติที่ใช้ในการทดสอบสมมติฐานได้แก่ t-test และ F-test (ANOVA)

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏดังนี้

1. ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามมีเจตคติโดยรวมและจำแนกตามเพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษาอาชีพ และที่อยู่ปัจจุบัน มีเจตคติต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม โดยรวมและรายด้านทั้ง 4 ด้าน อยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยได้แก่ด้านสังคมด้านวัฒนธรรมด้านคุณธรรม จรยธรรม และด้านการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม

2. ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามที่มีอายุอาชีพชุมชนที่อยู่ปัจจุบันต่างกัน มีเจตคติต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามโดยรวมและรายด้านทั้ง 4 ด้านแตกต่าง กัน ประชาชนที่มีเพศต่างกันมีเจตคติดังกล่าวโดยรวมและรายด้าน 2 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านวัฒนธรรม และด้านอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมแตกต่างกัน และประชาชนที่มีระดับการศึกษาแตกต่างกันมีเจตคติต่อนิสิต 1 ด้าน คือ ด้านวัฒนธรรมแตกต่างกัน (p < .05)

3. ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามมีความคาดหวังจากนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคามโดยเรียงจากความคาดหวังมากที่สุด 3 ลำดับ ได้แก่ นิสิตมีการประพฤติ ตนเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีของเยาวชนเช่น การตั้งใจเรียน การแต่งกายการพูดจาการเป็นนิสิตที่มีความรู้คู่คุณธรรม และความมีน้ำใจและเอื้อเฟื้อของนิสิต

โดยสรุป ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่รอบมหาวิทยาลัยมีเจตคติต่อนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม อยู่ในระดับที่เห็นด้วยและประชาชนมีความคาดหวังให้นิสิตเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีของเยาวชน และเป็นผู้มีความรู้ คู่คุณธรรมและมีน้ำใจเอื้อเฟื้อ ดังนั้นเพื่อเป็นการพัฒนาคุณภาพนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัย มหาสารคามควรให้ความสำคัญกับผลการวิจัยและนำไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในกำหนดนโยบายด้านกิจการนิสิต ทั้งนี้เพื่อเป็นการตอบสนองแนวทางปรัชญาของมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ที่ว่า “ผู้มีปัญญา พึงเป็นอยู่เพื่อมหาชน” อย่างแท้จริง

Abstract

Mahasarakham University has initiated a policy to extend educational opportunity, so its campus area was added and extended and its main campus was moved from Talard Sub-district in Muang District to Khamriang Sub-district in Kantarawichai District of Maha Sarakham Province. Khamriang Sub-district is bordered to Thakhanyang Sub-district where the ancient communities are located. The communities have inherited cultures for many generations and made several changes occurred during the past time such as economic extension, transportation, and usage of technology, resulting from the increase of Mahasarakham University student population. Thus, the purposes of this study were 1) to study attitude of people in the Mahasarakham University surrounding community people towards the Mahasarakham University students; 2) to compare the attitude of the Mahasarakham University surrounding community people towards the Mahasarakham University students with different genders, ages, educational backgrounds, occupations, and current addrees ; and 3) to explore the expectation of the Mahasarakham University surrounding community people about the Mahasarakham University students. Data were collected from 468 people living in the 5 surrounding communities including the Ban Thakhonyang community, the Ban Khamriang community, the Ban Dindum community, the Srisawat community, and the Padchimtad community, using a questionnace as aninstrument. Statistics used for testing hypotheses were t-test, and F-test (ANOVA).

The results of the research were as the following :

1. People as a whole and as classified according to gender, age, educational background, occupation and current address showed attitudes toward the Mahasarakham University students in general and in each of 4 aspects : society, culture, ethics and natural conservation, at the agreed level.

2. The people with different ages, occupations, communities and current addresses indicated different attitudes toward the Mahasarakham University students in general and in each aspect. The people with different genders differently showed attitudes towards the students in two aspects : culture and natural conservation (p < .05). The people with different educational backgrounds differently showed attitudes toward the students in the aspect of culture (p < .05).

3. The people showed their expectations about the students with the three highest orders as follows : 1) the students should have appropriate behaviors and being a role model for the youth interms of concentrating in study, dressing properly and speaking nicely. 2) The students should have adequate knowledge with morality. 3) The students should be generous and courteos to others.

In conclusion, the attitudes and expectation of the people towards the Mahasarakham University students were at the agreed level. Therefore, to develop the students’ qualification, Mahasarakham University should pay close attention to the results of this study and use them as a part of student development policy in order to respond to Mahasarakham University’s philosophy “Public devotion is a virtue of the learned.”
