Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

All manuscripts should be submitted through ThaiJO system.

Aims & Scope

In general, IBSJ provides an outlet for researchers to publish their manuscripts on topics related to business and management.  The journal includes empirical, methodological articles and case studies across the full range of business and management disciplines, including:

- General Management

- Accounting and Finance

- Business Ethics

- Human Resource Management

- Organizational Behavior

- Operations Management

- Strategic Management

- Marketing

- Equality and Diversity

The journal also covers topics related to innovation for business and society. This area of research will enhance our understandings of the role of innovation and its relation to business and society at large.  According to the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), social innovation is a mechanism that “can concern conceptual, process or product change, organizational change and changes in financing, and can deal with new relationships with stakeholders and territories.” In order to explore various types and aspects of innovation for business and society, we will focus on issues related to innovation that leads to (1) the identification and delivery of new services/goods/or policies that improve the quality of life of individuals and communities, and (2) the identification and implementation of new labor market integration processes, new competencies, new jobs, and new forms of participation, as diverse elements that each contribute to improving the position of individuals in the workforce.

In so doing, all forms of organization can lead innovation in their practices. Our journal coverage may include, but is not restricted to:

- Innovation for business and society development

- Innovation in finance/accounting system

- Innovation for global trade and entrepreneurship

- Strategy innovation, strategic alliances, BPR

- Innovation/research in marketing, SMEs

- CSR and society

- Innovation for global supply chain/networks, outsourcing, and retailing

- Innovation for Government and not-for-profit, including education, healthcare, and law

Submission Guidelines

Our journal welcomes academic research paper, case study, and management practice viewpoint. Briefs and research notes are not being considered for publication in this journal. Studies using quantitative and/or qualitative methods are welcomed.

Please ensure that your submitted manuscript to IBSJ has not yet been published or is currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and the author has cleared any necessary permissions with the copyright owner if it has been previously copyrighted. There are no charges for publishing with IBSJ.

Manuscript Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to the Innovation for Business and Society Journal should be in English and is prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (www.apa.org). The file format of the manuscript should be provided in Microsoft Word format. Manuscripts should be preceded by an abstract of no more than 200 words. Three to four keywords should be included following the abstract. The manuscript should be in Times New Roman 12-point font using one-inch margins all around.  Because the manuscript will undergo a blind-review process, the authors must not include your names or affiliations on the first page or any other pages of the manuscript. Additionally, any clues with regards to the author’s identity should be excluded from the manuscript.

Length of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be written in a clear and concise manner and should not exceed 40 double-spaced pages, inclusive of tables, figures, references, and appendices. 

The Use of Footnotes

Authors should use footnotes only when necessary. If footnotes are included, each of the footnotes should not be more than five lines.

Tables and Figures

All tables and figures must be grouped separately. It should be inserted directly into the body of the text. Figures should be created in Microsoft Excel format or else saved in .tiff or .jpeg format. All figures should be legible and of high quality.

Copyright and Permissions

All authors of the accepted manuscript must transfer copyright to IBSJ. The copyright  form can be downloaded here.

Ethics Policy

We follow the Academy of Management’s Code of Ethics. The codes of ethics can be found at the AOM’s Ethics Page at  https://aom.org/ethics/.

All authors must declare they have read and agreed to the content of the submitted article. A full statement of our Ethical Guidelines for Authors is available from the journal website.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
