Research on Hunan Fine-brush Flower and Bird Painting Based on Regional Cultural Background

This research consists purposes were 1. to Exploring the Influence of Hunan's Geographical and Cultural Environments on the Artistic Characteristics of Hunan's Fine-Brushwork Flower and Bird Paintings 2. to Synthesize the Inheritance and Development Paths of Contemporary Hunan Fine-Brushwork Flower and Bird Paintings and 3. to Exploring the Artistic Characteristics of Hunan Fine-brush Flower-and-Bird Paintings in the Context of Regional Culture. Through literature analysis, in-depth interviews with six representative painters and a questionnaire survey of 200 universities, combined with qualitative analysis and quantitative modeling with SPSS, five main hypotheses (H1-H5) of regional culture on the artistic expression of meticulous flower-and-bird painting in Hunan were verified. The research results found that 1) In summary, the quantitative results confirmed that the Hunan regional culture had significant statistical influence on the main dimensions of fine brushwork flower and bird painting, such as artistic style, creative concept, subject selection, aesthetic orientation, and expression language 2) the expression form is mainly fine brushwork line drawing and coloring, pursuing a tranquil and poetic artistic conception, and some people also integrate ink splashing into the background for innovative expression. In terms of differences, older artists are more committed to traditional techniques and the system of apprenticeship, while the younger generation is more willing to try multiple media and innovation and 3) The inheritance model is mainly apprenticeship and college education and there are also some self-taught people. These views jointly outline the main characteristics and development paths of fine brushwork flower and bird paintings in the context of Hunan regional culture in terms of creative concepts, expression forms and subject selection. This study found that Hunan's meticulous flower and bird paintings, inheriting traditional techniques, have formed an art form and cultural value system that deeply nurtures Hunan culture.
