Abstract

This academic consists purposes to analyze and synthesize the Emotional Intelligence Coaching Innovation (EIC), an intervention designed to enhance the potential of undergraduate students. The study employs a systematic literature review and case study analysis to identify the key components, strengths, success factors, challenges, and anticipated outcomes of implementing the EIC model. Findings from relevant literature indicate a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence (EI) and academic achievement, stress management, improved mental health, and long-term career success. The proposed EIC innovation integrates effective coaching principles with Goleman’s (1995) emotional intelligence theory, encompassing self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. A distinctive feature of this innovation lies in its application of neuroscience principles to understand brain functions related to emotional processing, the use of diverse and precise assessment tools for tracking progress, and its emphasis on sustainable development through continuous practice. The application of EIC within the Thai educational context has demonstrated positive outcomes at all levels of education, including successful case studies from Chulalongkorn University and Khon Kaen University. Nevertheless, expanding the implementation of EIC faces significant challenges, such as cultural differences in emotional expression and limitations in human and financial resources. This article concludes that EIC is a valuable strategic tool for developing high-quality, adaptable human capital capable of addressing the demands of the modern world. Finally, it proposes concrete recommendations for promoting and scaling up emotional intelligence coaching innovations to maximize their benefits within Thailand’s education system.
