Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. To study the level of public participation in community waste management and 2. To create a causal relationship model of public participation in community waste management of Ban Ton Nuea Sub-district Mueang-District Kalasin Province. This is a quantitative research The research instrument is a questionnaire The sample group is 285 people aged 18 years and over living in Ban Ton Community. The sample size is determined by the concept of Hair and Schumacker by calculating the sample size of 10-20 times the number of observed variables The research variables are equal to 19 variables. The data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis and structural linear modeling (SEM) to test the relationship using the Amos program. The results of the research found that 1) the levels of the factors affecting the solid waste management of communities In Ban Ton was at a high level, by ordering the highest to the lowest as the follows: Reject and Recycle (x̅= 4.28, S.D = 0.32), Reduce and Repair (x̅= 4.19, S.D = 0.42) and Reuse and Recycle (x̅= 4.17, S.D = 0.34) and 2) structural equation model of Solid Waste Management of Communities in Ban Ton is Reduce and Repair, Reuse and Recycle, Reject and Recycle. The data analysis with confirmatory factor analysis, model is consistent to empirically data as the statistic Chi-square = 142.419, df = 120, p-value = .080, Relative Chi-Square (c2/df) = 1.187, GFI= .949, AGFI = .927, RMR = .026, RMSEA = .029
